In one of the most anticipated appearances at Paris Fashion Week 2010, Sarah Burton unveiled her first ever collection for women as director, the Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton 2011 spring / summer Collection.
Alexander McQueen kept it simple on the runway composed of mossy wooden planks. Models appeared wearing light makeup with their hair varying in style. It was a different Alexander McQueen from previous year’s. A much softer one.
Pieces that set Alexander McQueen apart from other high street fashion brands were a pair of hand carved wedge shoes that displayed butterflies, hand-painted feather butterflies designed into a dress, among other garments.
The finale went underway to the Michael Jackson track I’ll Be There, followed by an applaud from an audience who wore their appreciation for the Alexander McQueen spring / summer 2011 collection across their faces.
Juicy Couture is tapering down its playful designs this holiday season in order to attain an older audience. A strong distaste for the Levi’s Double Denim Onesie has bombarded the web in recent days, and we can see why.
Among the many complaints is that a one-piece (that denim chambray shirt is attached to those jeans) can come at a huge inconvenience when nature calls, especially if you’ve been sipping away on cocktails all night–not to mention it just all around lacks flavor.
Bottom line, its manufacture didn’t do much to set these jeans apart from an ordinary pair of Levi’s, and the shirt from other shirts of its kind. Retail price is $200.
