’70s Twist for Fendi Resort 2013 Collection

Fendi has just unveiled their Resort 2013 collection and the stamp of the 1970s is clearly shown in the collection though with a twist.

Karl Lagerfield, the creative force behind Fendi (as well as Chanel) brought about the 1970′s feel through the designs that he incorporated in the collection. Most of the collection was really feminine with skirts and classic-shaped dresses. The twist for the collection comes in the form of accessories like the shoes and bags as well as the fringe incorporated in some pieces. The fringe was done impeccably thus giving the Fendi woman a modern feel despite originating from the 1970′s vibe.

One thing that is interesting in the collection is the color paletter utilized in the collection. Color blocking is clearly evident in the collection but the colors used where very vibrant like pink, yellow, and blue. The prints utilized were also vibrant as it is very eye-catching even from afar.

It is safe to say based on this collection that Karl Lagefield has never lost his touch when it comes to creating classic and modern fashion.

Miuccia Prada’s 2013 collection is made up of athletic-inspired pieces from the ’70s tennis world but with a more urban style. Prada’s fashion line shows tailored separates in green, blue, beige and maroon. The comfort and ease of the collection is great for stylish women with active lifestyles.

Notable pieces on the collection include colorblocked shirts, banded polos , flared trousers and lightweight jackets. Prada successfully convey the athletic theme especially with the flat sandals, sweat bands and square gym bags that complemented the whole outfit.

The images for Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fall 2012 Campaign has already been released and it screams total “femme fatale”.

The campaign stars Karlie Kloss, one of the top models in the fashion industry. The pictures were shot at “Les Frigos”, which is described as an iconic Parisian district. In the campaign images, Karlie is modelling the designs by Jean Paul Gaultier for his Fall 2012 collection. Black is the main theme of the collection and the designs are set to enhance a woman’s figure like a tight corset or skirt. The campaign also exudes elegance through the jackets features in the campaign.

Alexander McQueen Resort 2013 is a feast for the eyes. The spectacular outfits are inspired by David Bowie and patterns of Art Deco. This may be the most rigorous line that Sarah Burton has created and because of that, she successfully formed a new level of Glam Rock style. Her skills in working with extraordinary fabrics and embellishments and her desire to bring the focus back to the body are evident in this year’s collection.

The proportions are given a lot of emphasis in the Resort line. The peaked shoulders produced a more precise and edgier appearance. Also the high-waist trousers are outstanding because they can visually elongate the legs and make the torso fitted. A great way to make you look leaner, sleeker and sexier.
