The 2013 Resort Collection from Michael Kors is aptly called as “Opulent Minimalism”. The inspiration for the collection was based on Michael Kors’ recent trip to Turkey and the images that he saw when he was on that trip.
In his collection, the inspiration that he saw in Turkey was clearly transalted in the pieces that he designed. Most of the time, a Resort collection is hard to design since not many people are aware of this season. Michael Kors is aware of that and his take for this collection is to stick to the classics but add “opulence” through the design and styling element.
Most of the pieces in the collection are designed with sequins or elaborate prints. These designs are added in order to give a luxurious feeling despite the fact that the fabric used is an ordinary one. The colors that are also utilized in this collection are rich ones, which also gives out that elegant feel. Indeed, this collection from Michael Kors is Opulent Minimalism at its best.
