The Sunday Times recently named Singaporean retailer Christina Ong as the richest individual in the fashion industry.

The magnate, who owns Armani, Donna Karan and Prada franchises among others, credits her 1.2 billion revenue from Mulberry’s good performance last year. Ong started her retail company in 1972 when she established Club 21, a high-end fashion boutique based in Singapore. Now, thirty years after, she currently manages thirty luxury brands worldwide. Ong’s wealth however is not just confined in fashion. Together with her property tycoon husband, Ong’s empire extends to hotel and real estate development, the Singaporean Grand Prix and Ferrari dealership.
