On its 175th anniversary, Tiffany and Co. will be embark on an exhibition in Beijing, Tokyo and Dubai, featuring the original 128.5-carat Tiffany diamond set in a diamond and platinum necklace.

The necklace alone features 481 handcrafted stones and is over 120 carats. Founded in New York in 1837, the company currently holds the largest supply of the finest yellow diamonds. Tiffany’s rise in the jewelry industry started when the original Tiffany diamond, mined way back in 1877 in South Africa, was purchased by Charles Lewis Tiffany.

With the help of gemologist George Fredirick Kunz, the rough stone was fashioned with 82 facets which gave the Tiffany diamond a unique sparkle and sealed its reputation as an iconic symbol of luxury.
