Fleabag recently launched their collection for Spring Summer 2012 featuring knapsacks inspired by the All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment (ALICE) bags used by the military.

These packs are lightweight, making it convenient to carry around. The collection also has totes and clutches stamped with the Fleabag logo. As with its products, Fleabag’s new collection is made using organic materials and recycled leather, with the other vintage parts and accessories sourced from local businesses across the USA.

As an example of its support to other small-scale businesses, Fleabag owners Shira Entis and Alex Bell teamed up with local net-maker Erwin Menesses Jr. in creating the Seafarer Bag. Made from organic hemp canvas with leather straps and accessorized with dyed net, the bag is helping Menesses revive his net business after the 2010 Gulf Oil Spill reduced his profits by almost 95%.

For more information on the company as well as the current collection, head to Fleabag’s site. All of the pieces in the collection are handmade and are sold at a limited time only.
